A House In Tatters After Hurricane Tomas Pummels St Lucia
At the end of last month St Lucia took a severe beating from Hurricane Tomas. Last week I went out and shot pictures of the aftermath and spoke to some of the most affected people, many of whom are still walking around in a stunned dazed.
I've created a website at http://HelpRestoreStLucia.com which is open to donations to help restore some of the shattered lives.
I invite you to visit this site and take a look at a side of St Lucia that's so different from the normally happy pictures that I usually post.
I will continue to feature more pictures and videos of St Lucia's recovery efforts and invite you to join in the conversation by posting your comments and spreading the word…
Prestige Auto Holdings Limited (PAHL) FaceBook FanPage
If you have followed my blog posts for any time now you will know that I am a firm believer in the power of the internet to empower us all.
In recent times I've not been as active on this blog like in the past. However it's all for a greater good as I work to give St Lucia a tremendously enhanced online presence using many of the internet marketing strategies that I have learnt.
For sometime now I've been talking to the folks at Prestige about using the internet for the benefit of their customers. So the other day Nannette, the General Manager, simply said to me "OK Kirk why don't you stop talking the talk and start walking the walk!" and the Facebook FanPage listed above is the result.
Here's The Idea…
Using the internet to share information is probably the most efficient way to help any purchaser to make an informed decision and this FanPage is an experiment aimed at proving that.
This will be your FanPage…A place to find great info, post interesting pictures and video.
And also a place to find The Very Best Deals on new and used vehicles.
The info will be available 24/7 and comes without the usual advertising costs, ultimately meaning better prices for you whenever you are ready to buy a ride.
Day 359/6 Left St. Lucia Photographer Shares A Photo A Day With The World For A Year! Riding Thru Harrison’s Cave In Barbados
This week I’ve been spending the most amazing time at a family reunion in Barbados.
It turns out that I am the great grandson of a sea captain who had a few families in Barbados ( he is reputed to have sired more than 40 children!) and my trip over here has been like none I’ve ever done before.
At a time when I’m getting ready to promote St. Lucia’s tourism by creating a website to showcase "The Best of St. Lucia" I’ve been inspired by the discovery that my great grand father, Captain John Douglas, was also extremely philanthropic and would share out foodstuff to his entire community, both black and white, whenever he returned from a sea voyage…and this at a time when racial prejudice was a greater issue than it is today.
This discovery motivates me even more in my newest venture to use the internet skills I’ve acquired to benefit more people than just myself.
Day 357/8 Left St. Lucia Photographer Shares A Photo A Day With The World For A Year! Stunning St. Lucia Beauty
At St. Lucia’s recent carnival I chanced upon this Beautiful Babe and had a field day with my camera. Not only was she stunningly beautiful, but she also had a wonderful personality, which was quite simply…the icing on the cake…
OK, so I’ve been missing in action for quite some time now, as I was super busy with so many ideas swimming around in my head, that I needed some time away.
Well I have crystallized some of those thoughts into an action plan that will see me promoting St. Lucia’s tourism in a very focused way online…
Do a google search for "St. Lucia" & I come up #1…even above The St. Lucia Tourist Board…And truth is I now have the skills to come up # 1 for lots of search terms and I will be using these skills to benefit St. Lucia’s Tourism, then next I’m gonna create a training program to share with photographers, the secrets of my techniques…techniques that are netting me bigger paying photo assignments than I ever received before, even in these harsh economic times!!!
Click this link to learn more about my recent seminar in which I showed exactly how I did it…
Hot on the heels of this seminar I’ll be on ‘Talk’, St. Lucia’s # 1 TV Talk Show, this Thursday August 5th expounding on the topic some more and I hope that you will tune in to see me and that you will offer your feedback…
Day 356/9 Left St. Lucia Photographer Shares A Photo A Day With The World For A Year! Big Ben
Well I’ve missed quite a couple of days of picture posts, but I thought I’d make up for that by sharing this picture that I shot over here in London a couple of days ago.
Yeah, I’m in the UK for a couple of days, but with all the volcanic ash over Europe I’m not quite sure when I will get out…
Day 354/11 Left St. Lucia Photographer Shares A Photo A Day With The World For A Year! Saluting Our Troops
As I fly back into Miami, yet again, I thought I’d pause to salute all of the brave men & women who serve in the military and help to make this world a safer place.
I remember traveling to Miami about a week or two after 911, and being shocked at how deserted the arrival hall was at Miami International Airport. It was as if no one dared to venture back into an aircraft…and little by little the world has clawed its way back to not being petrified of getting on a plane.
So once again…"Hats Off "… to the brave men & women in uniform who help to make our world a safer place…
