Caribbean Destination Wedding Blog Interviews The St.Lucia Weddings Guru

Jill & Jarrold's Wedding At The Windjammer Landing St. Lucia
This is the First Wedding I Ever Shot – Windjammer Landing St. Lucia

Gill & Stuart were so impressed and amazed at my delivery for a first wedding ever that they autographed this picture for me, and you can imagine that today it remains one of my most treasured possessions.

I am constantly amazed by the power of the internet and social media to help us to reach out and connect with people in distant worlds that are not so far away.

Point at hand – well I ran into Laura soon after opening my twitter account and like so many other people who have chosen to follow me back on twitter, Laura liked what I had to say.

So I was pleasantly surprised when Laura requested an interview from me as a St.Lucia Weddings Expert.

Here you will discover the lucky accident that started me out in wedding photography and why I have  come to love destination weddings so much.  I believe that a beach wedding is one of the most romantic ways for a couple to exchange their vows and that St.Lucia is simply the perfect backdrop.

Kirk, Go You! :) Great article, and I hope it generates tons of new interest in your work. I completely understand about not having a favorite place to “get the shot” because the islands are so beautiful. Same situation here in the Smoky Mountains, you know. And each bride has a different opinion about where the very best spot might be – it’s our job to make sure that she gets that photo that matches the her dream. YOU, obviously, are making it happen.

Thank You Sandee for those kind words.

It’s funny because once upon a time I used to shoot about 50 weddings a month with a small team of hand picked photographers who I personally trained. And while brides raved about the work we produced, today I shoot considerably less weddings and my photography has reached previously unimaginable heights because now I’m all about a totally immersive experience for my brides from their very first contact with me.

Many many years ago I listened to an Eddie Murphy interview in which he said that he stopped thinking about money some 30 million dollars ago!

While that amount is still unfathomable to me, I totally understand what he means because I no longer work for money, but instead to provide brides with the greatest possible wedding experience like they can’t even begin to imagine!!!

    Hi Sandee,

Many Thanks for your kind words.

Taking 2 years out from a schedule of producing 50 weddings a month has given me such clarity regarding where I wish to take my photography.

I’m therefore looking forward to the new paths where all of this will lead. So now instead of giving 100% of me to 50 brides I wish to give 500% to 10 brides at a time!

    Once Again,

Many Thanks for your kind words,

    Kirk
