        Early Morning Fire Consumes Luxury Cars

In the early hours of Tursday morning past,a fire that appears to have started in a warehouse rented by a Castries merchant quickly spread, resulting in the damage seen here.

I spent yesterday morning with the folks at Prestige Auto and the stories of caring & compassion that I heard from both staff,and customers who came in and saw their luxury vehicles in a completely incinerated mess, was a true testimony to this company’s motto of "Above & Beyond!" and the tremendous goodwill they have generated within the St. Lucia community.

One gentleman who I spoke with had recently purchased a strikingly beautiful 3 series cabriolet.  Amazingly, he was quite upbeat despite having lost a 320i to the flames.  And when I asked him what were his feelings about losing a car he laughed, gave the General Manager, and co-owner a hug and said: :"Ah, it’s just a car…however my heart went out for these good people over here."…and he was speaking of the husband & wife team who own the business. 

…And my thoughts were: "What an amazing story of human compassion, understanding & caring."

Oh, and I almost forgot, the gentleman who lost his 320i, just after hugging Mrs. Reyes, the General Manager, said, with a mischievous smile on his face: "Hell it could have been my new cabrio gone up in those flames!"…Anyhow I still have the other little one to keep me going!"…pointing to his older 3 series BMW parked outside…
