      Rita & Ziggy Marley with America’s First Family

You will notice today that my picture post does not come with my signature fuchsia border, and that is because this isn’t my picture.

However when I received this picture as a forward from a fellow St. Lucia photographer I just had to share it.

Pictured here with America’s First Family are Rita Marley, wife of legendary Reggae Superstar, Bob Marley, and their first son Ziggy.

I have often thought of Bob and Elvis in the same breathe as two great and legendary singers/entertainers.  But in my mind I have always given Bob the edge because he has been, in my mind, the entertainer who gave the world A Music…that music being Reggae.  And that, to my mind, is no small feat.

It is interesting to note that while the whole world speaks of Bob Marley, Jamaicans simply say Bob.  And they say it with such a reverence that there is no mistaking of whom they speak when they utter that name.

And now one more legend has joined that fold…Michael Jackson!

So with this picture that I have so liberally borrowed, and shared, I salute three legends of music…

Elvis, Bob & Michael…May their souls Rest In Peace as we continue to enjoy their timeless music.
