Whether one is working with a bride or with a dive instructor, as in the shot above, the principle remains the same…How to manipulate light to best flatter your subject, and how to make your subject appear 3 dimensional in a two dimensional print.

A small group of us received exactly such training from Canadian Master Photographer, Craig Minielly, who simply loves the effects that can be achieved with a number of Nikon flashes all communicating with each other to deliver the exact light balance programmed to each one directly from the flash atop the camera.

The ability to do this is to my mind, one of Nikon’s crowning achievements in recent times.
