Antigua Oil Company’s Sign
Here’s a simple sign that reminds me so much of my childhood. And signs like the one pictured here can be seen outside many Antiguan petrol stations.
Funny thing is I have never seen that logo in any other country that I’ve visited, and so I will ever associate it with my Antiguan childhood.

Strange how that happens – photos bring back memories that are special only to you and they take you back to when you first saw the scene or took the photo. Photos, however, never quite do justice to the scene. I think it’s because of the feeling that you felt when you saw the scene never totally come across in the photo. What do you think? Thanks for sharing all these wonderful memories. Take care and God bless.

Well for me a photo can take me back to the time and place that it features and my imagination can do the rest. Seeing that photo of a simple sign took me back to my childhood and traveling on a country bus into the city. The sign even brought back memories of the smell of sugar cane being processed into sugar, which happened at a factory along the way. However I must hasten to add that its so easy for me to slip into a private world of fond reverie.
And on another note, I am always encouraged by your comments and your enjoyment of my photos…Thank You for caring!
