Stunning Architecture In Trinidad
This building with it’s stunning architectural detail is referred to in Trinidad as one of "The Magnificent 7"…
(I think!), as there are 6 other buildings within the same area with equally stunning architectural designs.
OK, now for how I ended up in Trinidad…Well it all started when a friend of mine called and asked me to check out some speakers online for him as he was considering buying a sound system. So you can imagine my surprise when a few days later he called me to see what he had bought and I was greeted by 32 massive speakers which required 2 strong men to move each one!
Turns out that my friend had purchased the speakers from one of the Trini Sound Systems that had come up to St. Lucia to provide the music for one of the carnival bands on the road.
Turns out that the guy from whom he bought the system was providing the sound for the "Great Fete" in Tobago, and my St. Lucia friend (Ronald is his name) had been invited to go to Tobago to see how the Trini Boys handle a big session.
So that being my kind of lime, I decided to go as well, as I am always game for new and unusual experiences.
Turned out however that the Great Fete over in Tobago was heavily subscribed to…what with some really popular Jamaican entertainers performing, and our return to Trinidad from Tobago was a little bit dicey, and no one wanted to take a chance as I was flying back into St. Lucia the Sunday night to shoot a wedding the following day.
So it was that we ended up spending the time in Trinidad…And our friends down there are already asking…"When we coming back?"…because they haven’t even taken us "down de islands yet"!…Boy, you just gotta love Trinis…
So do stay tuned as I will be bringing you more as the story unfolds.
Oh, but back to Ronald and his new sound system…Turns out Ronald now has enough sound to provide the music for any show in St. Lucia – including the St. Lucia Jazz Festival!…And the most amazing part of it is that the Trini fellas who he has "put out of business" are so happy for him! They have been offering him guidance regarding other equipment to purchase, as well as technical support for any show that he gets, both in St. Lucia and abroad.
In fact it was truly amazing to see the support that Ronald has been given. But truth is once you meet Ronald you will understand why; because here is a man who will go out of his way to ensure that all your needs are not only met, but surpassed, once he is involved in your project.
Funny thing though is that one of Ronald’s mottos is "What ever you do for others you are really doing for yourself, even though most times you do not realise it."
And I watch time and time again, Ronald’s chickens coming home to roost!

I love Ronald’s motto – it is something to live by. Lovely buildings by the way. Take care.
