Day 292/73 Left
St. Lucia Photographer Shares A Photo A Day
With The World For A Year!

Pigeon Island ~ St. Lucia
Sometimes a visitor’s pleasure can be an islander’s nightmare. Take for example, beautiful Pigeon Island, which I’ve featured before.
We are still in January and already the top of the island has lost its lushness and is now a dusty brown. And if you look at the left side peak with Fort Rodney atop, it looks like it has already been scorched by dry weather bushfire!
Trouble is, I can’t remember the last time I saw St. Lucia so dry so early in the year. And while this dry weather is great for vacationing visitors, it spells trouble for those of us who live here, and I foresee water shortages in the not too distant future.
…Guess I’ll be drinking more Piton Beer!! Anybody wanna join in?

Hi Kirk,
Hope all is well on your end. here we are ok so far by His Grace!
To update you we have had two fires there recently (pigeon point).. and I concur I have never seen it sooooo dry well really we did not have a rainy season, we are still in ‘careme’ from last year
But the photo is beautiful, we see it everyday and do not appreciate the beauty of our little isle!
Have a blessed day my friend!

Hey Frans,
Glad you continue to enjoy the show. Hows it up on the hill? At least that side of the island is still very lush!
