Day 16/349 Left
1000 Words A Day – Welcome To My World
(I’m Sharing A Picture A Day With The World
For A Year!)

Martinique-A cosmopolitan European Island in the Caribbean
While I was still contracted by Sandals to deliver all of their wedding
photography my wife became friends with a spunky young lady who
was vying for the title of Miss Sandals. We took her under our wings
and decided that this was our opportunity to put up or shut up as we
would often complained about the complacency of some island people.
So my wife, Denyse, flew in a pageant dress from California, then sent
me to Martinique to purchase the fabric for her national costume…Oh
did I tell you that Denyse & I are adamant about excellence!
Martinique was funny because I don’t speak a word of French (the language
spoken there), nor do I speak Creole, a French based language spoken both
in St. Lucia and in Martinique.
Anyhow, long story short…I managed to secure some fabric after nearly
chewing off my tongue trying to communicate. Anyhow I got some really fun
photos and this is one for you to enjoy.
Oh and by the way, Camille, my wife’s spunky little friend, went on to win the competition, then further to win the National Competition and finally to win
the overall Caribbean Competition held in St. Kitts!
Truth is we always knew that we were right about the delivery of excellence,
but it was really nice to prove it.
Camille, Honey…This one is for you…May you continue to shine as brightly
as the Star you truly are!!!
