St. Lucia Photographer Shares A Photo A Day
With The World For A Year!

3 Dimensional Lighting
A few days ago I promised to share some 3D lighting styles…and since a promise is a debt – here goes…
This picture was shot with my main light off to the far left and slightly behind the bride and groom, with a secondary fill light coming from my camera mounted flash.
The light from the flash atop my camera was set at a slight under exposure to account for the cumulative effect of combining the two lights (I’m intentionally keeping the physics light…no pun intended!).
Note the way the bride and groom are given "depth" by the interplay of light and shadow and also note the soft texture of the groom’s shirt caused by the light that’s hitting it at an angle instead of straight on.
As a photographer I am always looking for light, playing with it and striving to guide it into places where I want it to be.
How about joining me today in exploring the quality of light….It’s glare as it is reflected off the windscreen of a parked car, it’s glisten as it is reflected off a wet road, or its soft golden glow at sunset and dusk.
Tomorrow I’ll share another image made with direct light and I’m sure you’ll see the difference.
