A Perfect Wedding Sunset
A major challenge of photography is how to make your image appear 3 dimensional on a flat screen or in a flat picture, since both are 2 dimensional only.
One technique is to use angled lighting…what I like to call 3D Light. And what this type of lighting does is create subtle shadows that our brain interprets as depth.
This type of lighting requires working with a skilled assistant who operates in synchronicity with the photographer, understanding how exactly his illumination will affect the overall image created.
An added benefit is that this 3D lighting brings out subtle textures, particularly in fabrics, which lends yet another element of realism to an otherwise flat image.
Tomorrow I’ll feature some more 3D Lighting.
…And for those who have never used this type of lighting, try it out and you just may be amazed at the results…And for those who already use this magical lighting set up ~ Well, you know what I’m talking about!

I got so carried away by the colours in the sky that I ended up taking off my shoes, rolling up my trousers, and wading into the surf, just to get the perfect shot!
