The Power To Touch A Life…or Two

This story really tells you about the amazing things that can
happen because the internet allows us to interact which each other
at the speed of life:

When I started my picture a day post I just wanted to share the tons
of pictures that I have created over a more than 20 year career with
the rest of the world.

Well little did I know that it would be such a hit so you can
imagine my surprise when I received a friend request on facebook
from someone with whom I couldn’t figure the connection.

Well, long story short, I asked Gwendolyn how she had found me.
Was it through Twitter, I asked, as this was the only place I could
imagine.

To my surprise she sent back an email that blew me away:

"Yes, Kirk, we met on Twitter! Now I have to add your blog as well,
then I will really be stalking you! : ) Are you really posting a
photo every day? That is so ambitious! I like that idea!"

Gwendolyn’s response really made my day because here I am half way
round the world and able to cause such a strong emotion in someone
who I’ve never met…and all for just being me!

Now just imagine what your wedding photography can be when I am
giving my undivided all to you on your Wedding Day!

Aw, Kirk, you are too sweet! The world is small and the internet is helping to make it smaller! I wish I had known about your amazing photography before I got married. My husband and I were married in Jamaica, and I would have changed the location just to have you as our photographer. One day we’ll take a vacation to St. Lucia and meet you! : )

    Kirk,

Thank you so much for this post. You really touched Gwen’s heart for talking about the impact that photographers can have on each other and how they build connections.

I look forward to following your work and echo Gwen’s sentiments that I hope we get to meet you someday (preferably in beautiful St Lucia!)

[...] I was reading through the various blogs I follow when I came across the blog of my new friend, the St. Lucia Wedding Guru Kirk Elliott! I am not even sure how we got connected. It happened through Twitter, though I can’t recall [...]
