Was just in a running conversation on Twitter regarding the Rihanna/Chris Brown incident and it brought to mind this poem that I learnt at my Grandmother’s knee when I was but a boy. My Grandma always preached restraint and would often say "Don’t see the pleasure you’ll get from stealing or violence, or what ever else that is wrong or illegal, but instead see the shame and the pain of being taken to the JailHouse!"
And on that note here’s the poem…Written in 1865, it’s values are as relevant today as they must have been back then
…Enjoy
So the questions are:
- Can Chris Brown’s actions be understood?
- But the more important question is: Can Chris Brown’s actions be justified?
What say You?
Because I’m passionate about weddings and marriage and that’s why many people follow me I am curious to know how you feel.
So come on and tell me what you think…I aint gonna breath until I get an answer so…
PLEASE Don’t Make Me Turn Blue (:-(!

Understanding why domestic violence happens is easy. Justifying it is not.
There’s a big difference though between losing your temper / your cool on the rare occasion and domestic violence – I think that trying to decide who’s justified or not in this case and of course non celebrity cases also, is not something the casual observer can do.
I haven’t been following the Rihanna/Chris Brown issue hardly at all, but from what I do see, no-one really has a clear idea of what happened yet, so decision on if it was a loss of cool or is domestic violence, well, that’s a long way out of our reach I think.

Now to comment on the violence – in my mind there is absolutely no explanation for it that justifies it in any way. Guess i am just old fashioned enough to believe that men should treat women with respect and vice versa. All human beings should also act in a manner that deserves respect. I know that is impossible to have happen but one can always hope.
Take care and be happy. Great Grandma Margaret from California.
